An Inventory or Supply Specialist specializes in tracking and managing inventory and supplies to improve production or distribution at a company or organization. Manages purchase orders, or distribution of materials between different centers of a large company.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Seasonal GIS Asset Inventory Technician is responsible for conducting a comprehensive inventory of parks, playgrounds, facilities, open spaces, and other Parks and Recreation assets. The position will collect accurate field data using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and electronic data collection tools, photograph park assets, and assist with maintaining an up-to-date inventory to support planning, maintenance, capital improvement projects, and asset management. This position is ideal for a college student or recent graduate interested in GIS, municipal government, urban planning, engineering, parks and recreation, or environmental management. The information collected will directly support the City's long-term asset management and capital planning efforts.
SUPERVISION
This position reports to the Recreation Support Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct field inventories of parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, trails, facilities, and other Parks and Recreation assets. Collect and enter asset information using GIS software and mobile electronic data collection applications. Photograph park assets and infrastructure to document existing conditions. Record accurate location, condition, dimensions, and other required asset information. Upload photographs and electronic field data daily. Verify the accuracy and completeness of collected information. Assist with updating GIS databases and asset management systems. Identify missing, damaged, or deteriorated park assets and document observations. Follow established inventory procedures and quality assurance standards. Operate City-issued electronic devices, including tablets, GPS units, cameras, and computers. Communicate regularly with supervisory staff regarding project progress. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Current college student or recent graduate in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Parks and Recreation, Urban Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Experience using computers and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, or similar) preferred but not required. Ability to learn electronic data collection software quickly. Valid driver's license required

Ability to accurately collect and record field data. Ability to use tablets, smartphones, cameras, GPS devices, and computers. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in outdoor environments. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate professionally with staff and the public. Ability to safely navigate parks and recreational facilities while conducting field work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent walking throughout parks and recreation facilities. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and climb stairs. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to walk several miles during a workday while conducting inventories.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Coursework or experience in GIS or asset management. Familiarity with ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, or other mobile GIS applications. Experience collecting field data using electronic devices. Experience photographing facilities or infrastructure for documentation purposes.
