Temp-to-Hire The Ace Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Order Picker / Inventory Control Specialist for a growing manufacturing and distribution operation in Wood Dale, IL. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working hands-on in the warehouse and navigating computer-based inventory and shipping systems. What You'll Do as an
Inventory Specialist:
Pick, stage, verify, and prepare customer orders for shipment Receive and process incoming materials and inventory Accurately complete inventory and order transactions within company systems Utilize FedEx and UPS shipping platforms to process outbound shipments Generate shipping labels and required documentation Track inventory and material movement throughout the warehouse Verify item numbers, quantities, locations, and order information Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation Research and resolve inventory discrepancies Ensure physical inventory movement matches system transactions Monitor orders to ensure products are picked and shipped on time Coordinate with Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, and other departments Operate warehouse and material-handling equipment as required Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of materials Maintain organized and accurate warehouse inventory locations Support overall inbound and outbound operations as needed What We're Looking For Previous order picking, inventory control, warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience Strong computer and warehouse systems knowledge Hands-on experience with FedEx and/or UPS shipping systems Experience using ERP, WMS, inventory management, or similar systems Understanding of the complete inbound and outbound shipment process Experience with inventory transactions, order processing, and material tracking Experience operating warehouse/material-handling equipment Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy Ability to research and troubleshoot inventory or order discrepancies If you're a hands-on warehouse professional who is also confident working with inventory, ERP/WMS, FedEx, UPS, and order-processing systems, this could be an excellent next opportunity.
