JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assures the procurement of supplies specific to the surgery departments. Reviews purchase orders to ensure accuracy. Checks for backorders with Materials Management. Participates in the annual physical inventory of all surgical areas with Materials Management and Accounting Departments. Restocks the par levels per designated process. Anticipates supplies needed based on upcoming surgery schedule. Discusses concerns or change in product needed with Surgery Director/Charge Nurse to meet surgery case needs. Ensures proper inventory management of stock and non-stock items have been approved via the Products Evaluation Committee for existing and new products. Actively works with surgery departments to set, review and revise par levels appropriately. Monitors and reports inventory values, variances and remediation. Develops and documents consigned inventory process. Analyzes inventory trends, patterns and processes to determine supply usage across the Perioperative Department. Develops and facilitates appropriate dialogue with clinical staff regarding Inventory management practices. Provides timely communications with surgery management regarding inventory issues including the existence, cause and resolution of inventory variances. Ensures that overall department goals related to accuracy, productivity and customer satisfaction are achieved. Ensures that applicable OR supply procedures are effective, meet OR inventory par levels and departmental needs, and are followed. Redesigns work processes that will affect labor, supply and other operational cost reductions while maintaining or improving service and quality of end products. Develops, implements and monitors value-added and quality improvement initiatives to enhance and streamline current procedures and processes. Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel. Upholds JMH's Mission and Values. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in supply management preferred. Experience in surgery supply preferred. The centerpiece is Johnson Memorial Hospital, located in Franklin Indiana, just 20 minutes south of Indianapolis.
