The Inventory Specialist maintains accurate inventory levels by receiving, counting, labeling, storing, and dispatching parts and materials within a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role operates material handling equipment, verifies shipment accuracy, documents inventory movements, and supports production by ensuring tools, supplies, and components are available and in good condition.

Responsibilities:

Receive stock items, count quantities, and record data to maintain accurate inventory levels. Stock and label items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Run inventory reports to support cycle counting and ongoing inventory accuracy. Store items in warehouse, tool rooms, supply rooms, and other designated areas in an organized manner. Inspect incoming parts and materials and record any damage, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation and system records. Prepare work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to support outbound shipments and internal movements. Issue tools, equipment, and supplies to internal personnel in a timely and accurate manner. Load and unload materials using a sit-down forklift in accordance with safety procedures. Operate an overhead crane to move heavy materials when required. Perform order pulling and picking to fulfill production and shipping requirements. Clean supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Report broken or damaged tools and equipment so that repairs or replacements can be arranged. Use ERP systems and RF scanners to track inventory, process transactions, and update records. Support cycle counting activities to reconcile physical inventory with system records. Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures while working in the manufacturing environment. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely and accurate material flow.

Must Have:

At least 2 years of forklift operating experience, preferably with sit-down forklifts. Proficiency using ERP systems to manage and track inventory transactions. Experience operating RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing. Hands-on experience with order pulling and picking in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Background working in a manufacturing environment with established safety and quality standards. Ability to verify shipment accuracy and identify discrepancies in quantities or documentation. Capability to inspect incoming parts for damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications. Skill in preparing work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders with attention to detail. Comfortable operating material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes, in accordance with safety guidelines. Ability to maintain clean and organized storage areas, tools, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting, recording, and reporting inventory data. Comfortable working 12-hour weekend shifts from Thursday through Sunday. Willingness to work 2nd shift and be open to weekends and overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Experience operating heavy forklifts with capacities up to approximately 36,000 pounds. Background using reach trucks for material handling in warehouse environments. Experience operating cherry pickers for order picking at elevated heights. Familiarity with overhead crane operation for moving large or heavy materials. Ability to support multiple inventory functions, including order picking and cycle counting. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments. Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment designed to provide a comfortable and consistent workplace. Employees work with material handling equipment such as sit-down forklifts, heavy forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and overhead cranes, as well as ERP systems and RF scanners for inventory control. Multiple openings are available, including positions focused on order picking and cycle counting on 2nd shift, heavy forklift roles on 2nd shift, and weekend shift opportunities with 12-hour shifts from Thursday through Sunday. The standard 2nd shift runs from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with the possibility of working later when overtime is required. Schedules typically follow Monday through Friday, and team members must be open to weekends and overtime as needed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
