Position Summary The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing accurate inventory of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production continuity by ensuring material availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and improving inventory processes. Key Responsibilities Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
Maintain accurate inventory in an ERP/MRP system
Perform cycle counts and resolve discrepancies
Ensure materials are available and properly staged
Support kitting of jobs and projects
Coordinate with production leads to meet schedule requirements
Support Kanban and pull systems
Apply 5S and lean manufacturing practices
Improve inventory workflows and storage methods
Assist with shipping, documentation, and inventory updates
All other duties as assigned Qualifications
Required 2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong understanding of inventory processes, cycle counting, and material flow
Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on the production floor Preferred Experience in welding, fabrication, or machining environments
Familiarity with metals or steel materials
Knowledge of material traceability
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in a small, hands-on production environment Key Competencies Highly organized and detail-oriented
Strong communication and coordination skills
Problem-solving mindset with focus on root cause analysis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Adaptable in a fast paced, hands-on environment Work Environment On site role in a production facility with welding, machining, and fabrication operations.
