Aerospace & Defense | Mission Systems | Defense Electronics & Advanced Technology Position Overview Own the accuracy of materials that keep advanced defense manufacturing moving. Support receiving, inventory control, material processing and government-property accountability within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receiving & Inventory Specialist to support the Receiving and Inventory Team at the Troy Hill Campus in Elkridge, MD . This hands-on role supports critical receiving, inventory control, storeroom, material management and production-support operations . You will help ensure materials are accurately received, recorded, stored, controlled, issued and reconciled while supporting manufacturing production, repairs/WIP, Contract End Items (CEI), and other operational requirements. The position is particularly well suited for professionals with experience in receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, SAP/ERP, cycle counting, property accountability, government-furnished property or defense manufacturing . Your work helps keep critical materials available, accurately controlled and traceable so advanced defense systems can move through production and repair operations without unnecessary material disruptions. Key Responsibilities 1. Receiving & Material Processing Receive incoming materials from external vendors and internal manufacturing operations . Verify, log, track and process incoming materials using established systems and procedures. Process Material Receipts accurately. Identify, document and route materials appropriately after receipt. Support receiving, GOLD and SAP storerooms , and finished-goods processes. 2. Inventory Control & Material Management Monitor and maintain inventory supporting manufacturing and repair operations. Identify and control special-stock requirements . Pull, stage and issue materials supporting production, repairs/WIP and Contract End Items (CEI) . Process authorized Material Requests . Maintain accurate inventory locations, quantities and transaction records. 3. Cycle Counting & Inventory Reconciliation Perform physical cycle counts in accordance with applicable PrOP and MMAS standards . Compare physical inventory against system records. Investigate inventory discrepancies and variances. Reconcile differences and process authorized inventory adjustments. Support ongoing inventory accuracy and material-accountability objectives. 4. Government & Customer Property Accountability Support accountability for company-owned, customer-owned and government-owned property . Identify, document and communicate physical inventory losses in accordance with established procedures. Maintain accurate property and material transactions. Support traceability and accountability for controlled materials and property. 5. Production & Repair Support Ensure required materials are available to support manufacturing production, repair operations and WIP . Coordinate material movement, staging and issuance with production and repair teams. Support material requirements for Contract End Items and other operational programs. Communicate material shortages, discrepancies and availability issues appropriately. 6. Systems, Documentation & Reporting Use computer-based systems to track, verify, process, research and report inventory and receiving information. Utilize SAP and other ERP/material-management systems as applicable. Work with GOLDesp and/or CADSTAR , where applicable. Use Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting and communication. Maintain accurate transaction records and supporting documentation. 7. Audit & Process Compliance Support internal and external inventory, property and process audits . Follow SOPs, work instructions, inventory-control procedures and property-control requirements. Maintain documentation necessary to demonstrate process compliance. Identify process discrepancies and communicate issues through appropriate channels. 8. Team & Operational Support Work effectively with receiving, warehouse, manufacturing, production, repair, inventory and management teams. Manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy. Work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment. Support alternate shifts or adjusted schedules when required by business needs. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required, with 2+ years of relevant experience in receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, materials management, or a related field. Hands-on experience with receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, material receipts, and inventory transactions . Experience pulling, staging, issuing, or otherwise providing materials to support manufacturing production and/or repair operations . Experience using computer systems for inventory tracking, receiving, material transactions, recordkeeping, and reporting . Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to follow established processes, procedures, and requirements . Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple assignments. Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operating license . Ability to lift and handle up to 35 lbs. Ability to support alternate shifts as required by business needs. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, aviation, or government contracting environments. Hands-on experience with SAP , particularly receiving, inventory, warehouse, or materials management functions. Experience with GOLDesp and/or CADSTAR . Experience with Government Furnished Property (GFP), Government-Owned/Customer-Owned Property, or property accountability . Familiarity with DD-1149, DD-250, PrOP, and/or MMAS requirements. Experience supporting WIP, repair operations, production material support, or Contract End Items (CEI) . Experience with inventory discrepancies, inventory adjustments, material traceability, and audit/compliance activities . Previous forklift or material-handling equipment experience/certification.

$28.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week

(Yes/No) Do you have hands-on experience supporting the material flow from receiving and verification through storage/inventory control, material requests or issuance, production/repair support, inventory reconciliation, and completion of the required system records and documentation? (Yes/No) Have you personally used an ERP, inventory-management, warehouse-management, or materials-management system to perform or support receiving, inventory tracking, material movements, stock transfers, material issues/requests, inventory adjustments, or related material-control transactions? (Yes/No) Are you able to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 35 lbs., perform physical receiving/inventory activities such as counting, stocking, staging, and material movement, and obtain and maintain a forklift operating license as required? (Yes/No) Do you have hands-on receiving, inventory, warehouse, materials, or material-control experience in an aerospace, defense, aviation, manufacturing, government-contracting, or similarly controlled industrial environment where material accuracy, traceability, and process compliance are important?
