Job Description
at MANCON in Augusta, Maine, United States Job Description Overview The Inventory Specialist will oversee inventory movement and procurement activities for MANCON statewide in support of the MaineDOT. This position will direct and coordinate with MANCON store supervisors with the purchasing, selling, and transferring of inventory to reduce overall inventory levels. The Inventory Specialist will work with the MANCON management team to identify vendor sources, establish purchasing terms, and evaluate vendor performance. The compensation range for this position is $16.00 to $26.66 $ per hour. Placement within this range will be based on a combination of relevant experience, certifications, and/or demonstrated skills that align with the role requirements. Responsibilities
+ Manage vendor base and purchasing agreements to provide network of suppliers to support our MaineDOT customers with products for the best combination of price, quality, availability, and service.
+ Analyze inventory levels and usage to reduce inventory and pricing and maximize availability and quality.
+ Research and identify obsolete/inactive inventory and coordinate return to the vendor or transfer to MANCON locations.
+ Assist MANCON management team with vendor purchase agreements.
+ Work with MaineDOT satellite locations to return and transfer inactive inventory.
+ Assist in performing weekly inventory cycle counts
+ Assist in performing counts during wall-to-wall inventories
+ Review, familiarize with, and adhere to MANCON's Policy, Procedures and Safety Manual.
+ May occasionally, drive MANCON vehicle to designated locations to assist with inventory, customer returns, and vendor returns Other Requirements
+ Provide 24-hour support at the MaineDOT location during emergencies
+ Assist with inventory research projects as requested
+ Participate in the SCM continuing training program
+ Assist with other duties as assigned Qualifications + 2 years inventory experience + 1 year purchasing experience or similar
+ Microsoft Excel experience
+ Experience with inventory software systems
+ Communication and interpersonal skills
+ Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
+ Team player with organizational skills
+ Self-motivated individual able to work with limited direct supervision
+ Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications
+ Auto and/or heavy-duty truck parts experience
+ Obtain and maintain a forklift certificate Physical Requirements Medium work
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Essential Requirements Driving, Lifting, Reaching, Shoveling, Sitting, Standing, Stooping, Walking Physical Requirements Other Work is mostly performed in storerooms and warehouses which may have uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions. Work is also performed in vehicles traveling to sites.
