Job Description

Materials & Inventory Control Specialist Position Summary The Inventory Control & Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for supporting inventory accuracy, production scheduling, material planning, customer requirements, shipping and receiving activities, and supply chain reporting. This position works closely with Production, Shipping/Receiving, and customer and supplier contacts to ensure materials and finished goods are available and accurately reflected within the ERP system. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with ERP systems and spreadsheets, and able to manage multiple daily and weekly priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Production & Material Planning Create and maintain weekly production schedules. Review and update production schedules based on customer requirements, inventory levels, and production needs. Calculate in ERP raw material shortages and develop required warehouse transfer lists. Communicate shortage information to appropriate contacts. Inventory Control Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate inventory variances. Review ERP inventory information and make appropriate adjustments or coordinate corrections. Maintain raw material, finished goods, mold, and ADG inventory records. Provide weekly reporting of scrap material being returned to customer. Update ERP weekly for material placed in the hold area. Assist with and coordinate annual physical inventory activities. Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and inventory-control processes. ERP / System Administration Perform daily transactions and maintain accurate information within the ERP system. Create manufacturing orders, sales orders, pick lists, and other required system documentation. Receive raw materials into the ERP system. Support continuous improvement of ERP system usage and data accuracy. Shipping & Receiving Support Create daily pick lists for shipments. Print required customer labels. Provide backup support for shipping-related responsibilities when required. Reporting & Analysis Prepare and distribute daily schedule updates at the end of the shift. Prepare and update monthly BOS charts. Maintain and update monthly forecast-versus-actual results. Maintain and update the three-week production forecast. Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement related to inventory, scheduling, and material flow. Continuous Improvement Participate in projects designed to improve inventory accuracy, ERP utilization, material flow, and supply chain processes. Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of scheduling, inventory reporting, and system transactions. Work cross-functionally with Production, Shipping/Receiving, Quality, and other departments to resolve inventory and material-flow issues. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in inventory control, production planning, material planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations preferred. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems experience preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to maintain and analyze spreadsheets and reports. Understanding of inventory-control principles, manufacturing schedules, material requirements, and shipping/receiving processes. Ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes of inventory variances. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to manage multiple daily, weekly, monthly, and annual responsibilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple departments and external contacts. Key Competencies Inventory Control
