Full Job Description Production Inventory Control Specialist Reports To:
Plant Manager Job Summary:
The P&IC Specialist is responsible for coordinating inventory control, production support, and shipping activities to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency. This role manages purchase expediting, inventory accuracy, and shipping performance while supporting production schedules and optimizing working capital.Job Description:
- Implement improvement processes to improve On Time Delivery to Customer Request Date
- Manage system data to minimize costs and optimize working capital
- Lead and manage inventory transactions
- Execute cycle counting program
- Audit and correct ship floor data to ensure accurate production reporting and inventory tracking
- Ensure work orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed are resolved
- Manage control measures to ensure system errors, mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate supply chain activities to ensure material availability aligned with production schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely shipping of All Products
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counting, reconciliation, and system updates
- Support On Time Delivery Performance Targets of 98%+
- Ensure 100% compliance with cycle count programs.
Qualifications:
- Experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of
MRP, ERP
systems, and inventory control processes.- Process excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Possess the willingness to learn, improve, and adapt.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook) and ERP Systems.
- APICS certification preferred.
