Job Description

Position Summary:
The Central Supply Assistant assists with the daily operations of the Central Supply Department under the direction of the Central Supply Manager. This position is responsible for supporting the cleaning, preparation, organization, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the facility while following hospital policies and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Central Supply Manager with daily departmental operations and assigned duties. Follow the direction and instructions of the Central Supply Manager and other designated supervisors. Deliver medical supplies, equipment, and other requested items to departments throughout the facility in a timely manner. Receive, inspect, organize, stock, and distribute supplies and equipment. Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked supply areas. Assist with inventory control, including checking stock levels and reporting shortages or damaged items. Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and preparing equipment according to hospital policies and manufacturer instructions. Maintain proper handling and storage of supplies and equipment. Assist with maintaining accurate records and completing required department documentation. Follow infection prevention, safety, and infection control procedures at all times. Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information. Communicate professionally and courteously with hospital staff, patients, visitors, and vendors. Perform other duties as assigned by the Central Supply Manager or Administration.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous healthcare, central supply, materials management, or related experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull supplies and equipment as required by the position.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. May be required to lift and transport supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Work may involve exposure to medical equipment, supplies, cleaning products, and healthcare environments. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used as required.
