Job Description

Drax is seeking a Plant Inventory Specialist to support reliable, low carbon power generation by maintaining accurate inventory across our biomass plant operations. In this role, you'll manage daily material movements, perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and keep ERP records up to date for raw materials, spare parts, and consumables. You'll partner closely with operations, maintenance, and logistics to align inventory with production needs while following strict safety and environmental standards. Drawing on strong analytical and organizational skills, you'll track KPIs, support audits, and help drive continuous improvement in inventory processes across the site. Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, spare parts, and consumables Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile variances within ERP systems Coordinate material receipts, transfers, and shipments with operations and logistics Monitor stock levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or overstock Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality procedures in all inventory tasks Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and procurement on planning and scheduling needs Prepare inventory reports and KPIs for plant and corporate stakeholders Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory processes Use data analysis to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities Required Skills Inventory management Cycle counting ERP/MRP systems Data analysis and reporting Warehouse operations Supply chain coordination Microsoft Excel Root cause analysis Documentation and recordkeeping Health, safety, and environmental compliance
