Job Description

Overview We are looking for a dependable, organized person to manage parts inventory, coordinate ordering, maintain accurate work-order records, and monitor mechanic labor hours. This position helps keep our shop supplied and provides management with clear weekly reports.
Responsibilities Inventory:
Receive, verify, label, and organize incoming parts and shop supplies.
Inventory control:
Track parts received, issued to mechanics, used on work orders, and returned. Maintain accurate stock records.
Parts ordering:
Monitor frequently used parts, maintain minimum stock levels, and order supplies in time to prevent shortages.
Data entry:
Enter and update parts information, inventory transactions, and work-order details in the shop system.
Work-order reports:
Prepare initial and final invoice reports for each work order, checking that parts, labor hours, and work performed are accurately documented.
Labor-hour tracking:
Monitor mechanics' recorded hours against the hours allotted to each work order. Follow up on missing entries and report overruns or discrepancies to management.
Weekly inventory audits:
Conduct weekly physical inventory counts, compare results with system records, and investigate and report discrepancies.
End-of-week management report:
Summarize inventory levels, parts ordered, shortages, audit findings, work-order status, and allotted versus actual labor hours. What we are looking for Strong organization, attention to detail, and reliable attendance. Experience with inventory control, parts ordering, or shop coordination preferred. Basic computer skills and accurate data entry. Ability to follow up with mechanics and vendors and communicate clearly with management. Ability to identify inventory shortages, missing records, and labor-hour discrepancies. Familiarity with automotive parts and shop-management software is a plus.
