Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Glassware Inventory Specialist to support laboratory operations within a fast-paced, team-oriented lab services environment. This role is responsible for the collection, processing, cleaning, inspection, and redistribution of laboratory glassware and plasticware. The Glass Wash function provides centralized support to ensure all laboratory glassware is properly decontaminated, inspected for cleanliness and structural integrity, and safely returned to service in compliance with site standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a regulated laboratory setting. Key Responsibilities Collect, transport, and deliver laboratory glassware and plasticware following contamination control procedures Safely handle contaminated and non-contaminated laboratory materials per established protocols Operate glassware washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and dry heat sterilizers Prepare items for sanitization using defined procedural steps Inspect all processed glassware for cleanliness, residue, and defects prior to release Maintain temperature logs, equipment records, and GDP-compliant documentation Perform routine equipment checks and operational inspections Conduct preventive maintenance including monthly de-scaling and cleaning tasks Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the Glassware Lead Maintain cleanliness and organization of processing and storage areas Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures Complete required training and maintain compliance with site requirements Assist with onboarding and training of new team members Support process improvement initiatives with team leads Cross-train and provide backup support across laboratory service functions Required Qualifications Associate's degree in a scientific or technical field, OR High school diploma/GED with 2+ years of laboratory or operational support experience Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in glass wash or laboratory support services Familiarity with autoclaves, glassware washers, or similar laboratory equipment Critical Skills Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions Hands-on experience operating laboratory equipment (after training) Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal) Customer service mindset and responsiveness to lab needs Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) Working Environment & Physical Requirements Laboratory/controlled environment requiring PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) Fast-paced environment with high quality and turnaround expectations Standing for 25%+ of the workday Frequent movement between lab areas and facilities Regular bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; potential lifting up to 50 lbs Requires strong visual acuity (close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception) Occasional computer and office equipment use May handle hazardous waste in compliance with regulations Exposure to laboratory hazards including chemicals, biological materials, and temperature extremes May require medical clearance, respiratory protection training, and fit testing Please use the apply button to submit your resume for consideration.
