Job Description

Kendal at Oberlin's Culinary Services team currently has a full time opening for an Inventory Control Specialist . The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, labeling and inventorying food, beverages and disposables used in the production of menus. They will maintain all storage areas associated with culinary services in a safe, clean and sanitary manner under the federal and state regulations. This position will require flexibility to work day and evening hours with rotating weekends and holidays. Essential job functions will include but are not limited to: Maintaining M.O.G's (managed order guides) to ensure the department is purchasing the correct specified items at the correct price. Receiving and storing all incoming goods to ensure adequate and high quality stock. Verifying actual quantity received against vendors invoice and purchase order. Rotating stock, using first in, first out principle to insure fresh product usage. Properly stores all poultry and seafood items to ensure quality and eliminate the possibility of cross contamination. Maintaining records of stock, to permit accurate food purchasing and adequate stock levels. Taking physical inventories once a week using prescribed forms. Keeping storage areas clean and sanitary to insure safe product. Cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining dry goods storeroom, walk-in freezers and refrigerators and catering storerooms.
Qualifications & Experience :
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in commercial production kitchens such as restaurants, hotels and golf clubs. High school diploma or equivalent. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Puts success of team above own interests. Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Must be dependable with excellent attendance. Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint Must be able to lift, carry, push and hold up to 60 pounds for 8 hours Must be able to walk and/ or stand 90% daily.
Shift:
Days with rotating weekends and holidays as needed. Experience Required 1 year(s): 1 year in commercial production kitchen.
