Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting/Inventory Specialist to join our team! In this pivotal role, you will oversee comprehensive inventory management processes, ensuring accurate tracking, data analysis, and optimal stock levels at our location in Castle Rock. Your expertise will drive process improvements and support strategic decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage technical proficiency and analytical skills to streamline inventory control, enhance logistics efficiency, and contribute to the overall success of our supply chain functions. This position will start with inventory processes but may expand to encompass all accounting duties for this small company. This will begin as a part-time contractor position. The applicant will need to be on-site at least 2 or 3 days a week to oversee inventory. In-office work days are typically Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Duties Manage inventory distribution activities, including stock stocking, materials handling, and shipping & receiving operations. Utilize inventory management systems in Quickbooks and integrate with Hubspot for order processing. Conduct analysis to identify trends, root causes of discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing strategies, supplier management, contract negotiations, and pricing analysis to optimize purchasing decisions. Perform demand planning and production scheduling based on sales forecasts, inventory data, and supply chain analytics. Implement inventory control measures through cycle counts, audits, and root cause analysis to minimize stock discrepancies. Support logistics operations by managing freight costs, and optimizing shipping & receiving workflows. Develop data visualization dashboards for cross-functional teams to facilitate informed decision-making in merchandising and category management. Assist in financial modeling related to inventory valuation, pricing strategies, and supply chain cost analysis. Maintain accurate records of materials management. Assist with day to day accounting, including maintaining COGS. Experience Experience in inventory management or fast learning skills. Proficiency in Quickbooks and HubSpot. Strong organization and accuracy skills. Experience with procurement processes. Strong accounting background. Knowledge of logistics inventory management practices including shipping & receiving procedures and materials handling including accounting for those items. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across merchandising, procurement, logistics, and finance teams.
