Approximately 3-4 days per week, generally 3-5 hours per day as needed Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Supply Center Specialist to support a scientific supply center in Cambridge, MA. This part-time hybrid position is responsible for maintaining inventory, receiving and organizing laboratory supplies, monitoring product availability, and providing excellent customer service to scientists, laboratory personnel, and procurement teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, highly organized, and able to respond quickly to customer and operational needs. Schedule This is a 20-hour-per-week part-time position with a combination of on-site and office-based work. Monday — On-Site | 4 Hours Manage and review inventory. Identify expired products. Reconcile physical inventory with inventory reflected in the system. Tuesday — On-Site | 4 Hours Approximately 10:00 AM-2:00 PM Unpack incoming orders. Put away and organize laboratory supplies. Clean up and properly dispose of packaging materials. Wednesday — Office Day | 4 Hours Flexible schedule, except for scheduled meetings. May need to return to the site if packages are delayed in transit or require on-site attention. Thursday — On-Site | 4 Hours Approximately 10:00 AM-2:00 PM Unpack incoming orders. Put away and organize laboratory supplies. Clean up and properly dispose of packaging materials. Friday — Office Day | 4 Hours Flexible schedule, except for scheduled meetings. May need to return to the site if packages are delayed in transit or require on-site attention. Schedule flexibility is required based on deliveries, customer needs, and business requirements. Essential Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to on-site scientists, laboratory personnel, lab managers, and procurement teams. Build strong relationships with customers and anticipate their laboratory supply needs. Manage daily inventory activities, including receiving, unpacking, restocking, rotating, and auditing products. Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical inventory with system records. Identify expired products and ensure appropriate inventory action is taken. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Supply Center. Maintain merchandising and branding standards. Monitor product availability and support accurate and timely replenishment. Utilize internal systems to manage orders and monitor product usage and inventory trends. Review purchasing and usage trends to identify opportunities for improved product availability and customer service. Communicate customer feedback, purchasing trends, and product needs to commercial teams. Support product demonstrations, product shows, seminars, and other on-site customer engagement activities. Identify potential new product opportunities based on customer needs and purchasing trends. Complete all required training. Assist with training and onboarding new Supply Center Service Representatives as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, retail, sales, research and development, laboratory support, inventory management, or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities independently. Customer-focused approach with the ability to quickly understand and respond to customer requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing needs. Proactive approach to identifying problems and developing solutions. Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, colleagues, and commercial teams. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field. Experience in a scientific, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environment. Experience with inventory management, supply chain, or laboratory supplies. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Work hours must generally be performed during normal business hours to align with delivery schedules and customer availability. Daily travel to and from the account location may be required; mileage is reimbursed . Ability to lift up to 15 pounds . May be required to stand for extended periods while performing job duties. Work may be performed in an office, supply center, and scientific/laboratory environment. Ability to work on-site approximately 3-4 days per week , with flexibility for additional site visits when needed.
