Job Description

Openwork is currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Controller for an opportunity in La Porte, TX. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels both physically in the warehouse and within the company's inventory system. The ideal candidate will have warehouse inventory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and maintain accurate warehouse inventory both physically and in the client's software system
  • Organize warehouse stock and keep accurate records of inventory
  • Perform monthly cycle counts and investigate/resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Monitor damaged goods and coordinate necessary repairs
  • Assist with internal and external inventory audits
  • Track and reconcile inventory counts and documentation
  • Follow proper procedures for storing and handling materials
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service
  • Work independently with little or no supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience with inventory control, warehouse organization, stock tracking, or cycle counting
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including possible extreme weather conditions
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and ready to work at the start of each shift
  • Willingness to work additional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Must be able to meet the requirements for a Forklift Driver
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations
