Los Fresnos, TX Position Type:
Full-Time Position Overview Los Fresnos Nursery is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Inventory Control Specialist to perform hands-on tracking, auditing, and data entry for our plant stock and raw supplies across propagation, growing, and holding areas. The ideal team member will assist in keeping stock counts accurate, resolving variances on the ground, and ensuring customer orders are filled accurately and on schedule. Key Responsibilities •
Field Audits & Cycle Counts:
Conduct daily and weekly physical counts of plant batches, containers, and materials across nursery growing fields •
Data Entry & System Updates:
Input daily count sheets, stock transfers, and scrap/loss adjustments into spreadsheets or inventory software accurately and in a timely manner. •
Discrepancy Investigation:
Work alongside field supervisors to recount and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical stock and system counts.
Work Schedule & Physical Demands Schedule:
Full-Time (Monday - Friday, daytime hours; seasonal overtime may be required during peak production/shipping periods).
Environment:
Split between indoor office data entry and active outdoor work across nursery fields in varying weather conditions.
Physical Expectations:
Must be able to walk long distances across agricultural terrain, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Experience in hourly inventory control, receiving, warehouse stock counts, or nursery/farm operations preferred.
Software:
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data entry, filters) and comfortable learning inventory management tools.
Detail-Oriented:
Numerical accuracy and strong focus on accurate record-keeping.
Communication:
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred to collaborate effectively with field crews and supervisors.
Reliability:
Strong attendance record, punctuality, and self-motivation.
Pay:
From $14.00 per hour
