In person About Us For over 100 years, Darden Building Materials has supplied quality brick, stone, and building materials throughout Central Texas. Job Description Darden Building Materials is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Yard Logistics & Purchasing Specialist to manage purchasing, inventory, receiving, and delivery dispatch for our Waco yard. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory and ordering yard materials, managing stock and special orders, receiving incoming materials into our system, and scheduling and dispatching deliveries to customers and jobsites. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates well, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position works closely with customers, sales staff, suppliers, drivers, and yard personnel to keep materials and deliveries moving efficiently throughout the day. Experience with BisTrack is highly preferred but not required . Responsibilities Monitor inventory levels and order yard materials as needed to maintain appropriate stock. Place and track stock, special, and custom material orders. Communicate with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, backorders, and incoming materials. Receive incoming materials and purchase orders into BisTrack accurately and in a timely manner. Verify incoming shipments and address shortages, damages, or order discrepancies. Schedule and dispatch all yard deliveries to customers and jobsites. Coordinate with sales and yard personnel to ensure orders are complete, pulled, and ready for delivery. Communicate delivery schedules, changes, and jobsite information with drivers and customers. Adjust delivery schedules and priorities throughout the day as needed. Coordinate inbound freight with suppliers, carriers, and freight brokers. Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, receiving, and delivery records. Assist with inventory counts and resolving inventory discrepancies. Assist with receiving and unloading incoming materials when needed. Help resolve purchasing, delivery, and customer issues in a timely and professional manner. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience in purchasing, dispatch, inventory management, logistics, building materials, or a related field preferred. BisTrack experience is highly preferred but not required. Experience with inventory, ERP, dispatch, or order-management software is a plus. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adjusting priorities when needed. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. Building materials or construction industry experience is a plus.
