No Work Schedule Monday-Friday Sensitive Position No Job Description New River Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one-hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia with an instructional site in Christiansburg. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs. Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body. Duties:
Support employees in procuring goods and services for departments, prioritizing cost-effectiveness. Ensure negotiation for and compliance with college-wide contracts. Maintain partnerships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and high-quality products. Oversee inventory levels and restock the college supply room as necessary to prevent shortages or surpluses. Maintain accurate records of all assets owned by the college, including their location, condition and value. Conduct an annual physical inventory to rectify any discrepancies. Provide training to employees on eVA and procurement card procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Experience in purchasing, supply chain management or related field.
  • Experience with inventory and asset management.
  • Experience in using a procurement card and understanding related regulations.
  • Accuracy in data entry and maintenance of records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, procurement and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Additional Considerations
  • Prior work experience involving familiarity with Virginia State procurement regulations, eVA, PeopleSoft and/or comparable systems.
