Job Description
We are looking for an Inventory Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in New Berlin, Wisconsin. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone with hands-on inventory experience who can keep materials organized, maintain accurate stock records, and help production stay on schedule. The person in this role will work across inventory control and operational support activities, with a strong focus on material flow, reporting accuracy, and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily material picking and staging activities to ensure production has the correct items available when needed.
- Partner with planning and shop floor teams to support material handlers and maintain accuracy throughout the inventory process.
- Review production and inventory documentation to record material usage and report finished goods output accurately in company systems.
- Research stock variances, identify likely causes, and complete inventory corrections or escalate findings when discrepancies are discovered.
- Process internal material movements and prepare routine inventory-related reports required for operational visibility.
- Perform recurring cycle counts on assigned items and help maintain inventory accuracy through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checks.
- Assist with transactions involving obsolete or excess materials and support proper disposition activities within operations.
- Provide coverage for inventory responsibilities at another plant location when business needs require additional support.
