Are you an experienced Class B CDL driver with a safe record and great customer service skills? We need you to join our Team! In this exciting role, you will: As a Freight Handler/Driver for Pet Food Experts / PetZoo Alaska you will successfully deliver pet products in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. This position requires manual labor to load/unload and place product at the delivery locations. Our delivery driver also assists with warehouse duties, such as creating transfers, stocking, cleaning, and loading product. Our driver also assists on the sales floor, stocking and cleaning as needed. And, assists with grounds maintenance, plowing snow, and sanding parking lots as needed. Pick up returns and associated paperwork according to company return policy Deliver intercompany transfers and live shipments between all locations Complete trip reports, logbooks and other required documents in a neat and timely manner Communicate customer needs, opportunities and concerns to Manager Be knowledgeable about delivery areas, routing aspects and traffic conditions to ensure on-time, successful delivery and satisfied customers Maintain neat, professional appearance as a company representative and interact appropriately with customers and general public Maintain and ensure cleanliness of assigned equipment. Report all maintenance needs to Manager Keep necessary permits and licenses required for your vehicle Maintain unexpired appropriate licenses to perform your job in a legally compliant manner Appropriately respond to and effectively resolve customer needs as they arise Ability to unload pallets and product off of truck Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment Ability to operate plow truck and sander to keep parking lots clear and safe This position will perform duties in the warehouse and on the salesfloor, such as stocking, cleaning, and customer carry outs Freight handler duties include building transfers, rotating product, caring for backstock, loading/unloading product, and grounds maintenance duties Ability to work around hay/straw products
Salary:
$24.00 / hour + DOE This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list; other duties may be required. These duties and responsibilities are subject to change at any time. Do you have the following qualities? Strong team player, able to work cooperatively with others in sales, customer service and warehouse operations to complete transactions Excellent communication, listening and problem solving skills Positive attitude and ability to maintain patience and composure Project confidence while working with customers, including a professional appearance Must maintain appropriate unexpired legal license Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Willingness to work early morning hours in winter for plowing as weather requires Your education & experience should be similar to: High school diploma or GED At least one year truck driving experience required Previous delivery driver experience preferred Previous winter truck driving experience required Previous forklift experience preferred Needed certifications:
CDL Class B License Working Conditions:
As a truck driver, you will be exposed to vibrations and possible loud noises May be subject to weather conditions (seasonal) May work near moving mechanical parts The required physical abilities to perform the necessary functions of this job: Primarily driving or lifting Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-100lbs Ability to operate a commercial vehicle in a safe manner
