Job Summary:
Ensure quality of the products while maintaining the safety of the food and employee is the highest priority of Sabrosura Foods. A Utility operator's duties are to assist the supervisor/lead in day-to-day operations to fulfill orders that are scheduled with speed and accuracy. The utility operator works in a team environment where communication is imperative. There are many different machines, product and packaging used on a daily basis; learning and applying these skills to different types of product packaging is key.
Job Responsibilities:
General laborers are responsible for performing production, sanitation, and other general duties as assigned in accordance with established safety and quality standards. Observes and complies with all GMP and OSHA requirements to perform the essential functions of the job safely. Performs basic duties such as placing product on tables, placing product on containers, removing containers around production lines, ensure containers has correct product information, weigh out product, and placing them on packaging equipment. Inspects and removes defects or any extraneous materials from product. Reports any mechanical or safety problems. Adheres to all safety practices, including wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Keeps work area clean by sweeping, shoveling, dumping, or disposing of various materials. Adheres to all plant hygiene standards to ensure product integrity. Responsible for employee safety, food safety, legality, and quality within the scope of the job's responsibilities. Must have a good attendance record While the duties above generally describe the job content, not all duties are performed continually or regularly (i.e., hourly, daily, weekly, etc.). Duties performed are dependent upon the operation being supported. Demonstrate and uphold company core values in all work interactions and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with organizational culture and goals.
Required Skills/Abilities:
The ability to attend work predictably and regularly and to be punctual. The ability to read and understand documents, and instructions (whether presented in written, oral or schedule form). The ability to work cooperatively with others. The ability to deal politely and professionally with plant quality control and coworkers. The ability to perform several tasks at once. The ability to follow direction or instruction. The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information. The ability to lift and move 50 pounds. The ability to sit/stand/bend/stretch, etc. The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with the hands and arms.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis Constant rotation of job duties every couple hours Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception Able to work a multi shift environment Exposed to cold (40º)/ heat/ humidity
