Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Part-Time Boatyard Laborer to support daily operations at our busy boatyard. This hands-on position involves organizing tools and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe yard environment, and assisting with essential boatyard services such as boat blocking, pressure washing, and surface preparation for painting.
Key Responsibilities:
Tool & Equipment Organization:
Maintain a clean, well-organized shop and tool storage area. Ensure all tools are returned after use and properly maintained.
Yard Maintenance:
Keep yard space free of debris and hazards; assist in seasonal yard cleanups and material storage.
Blocking Boats:
Assist with safely blocking and stabilizing boats after haul-out, under supervision or direction of senior staff.
Pressure Washing:
Perform high-pressure washing of boat hulls following haul-out to remove marine growth.
Sanding & Prep Work:
Sand and prep boat bottoms for painting, including masking, scraping, and cleaning as needed.
Support Tasks:
Load and unload materials, move equipment, and provide general support for boatyard technicians as required.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a boatyard, marina, or similar setting is a plus but not required. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor. Basic understanding of hand and power tools. Attention to detail and safety-minded approach to all tasks. Willingness to learn and take direction.
Compensation:
Hourly rate based on experience. Opportunity for increased hours or advancement based on performance.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
