Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Driver Assistant and thrift store helper and be a vital part of our service in the community! In this role, you will support the driver in donation pickups, handling and store arrangement, and ensuring timely pick-ups across diverse environments. Your enthusiasm for safe driving, excellent communication skills, and ability to adapt to various driving conditions will help keep our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Assist drivers with local donation pickups and deliveries. Load, unload, and safely handle donated items and merchandise. Perform heavy lifting using proper lifting techniques and safety procedures. Occasionally operate standard passenger vehicles and box trucks in accordance with traffic laws and company policies. Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and staff to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and resolve issues. Assist customers by carrying purchases to their vehicles when needed. Sort, stock, and organize clothing and other merchandise on the sales floor. Help arrange and move furniture as needed for display or store operations. Remove trash and maintain a clean, safe, and organized store and work area. Assist with general thrift store operations during periods when pickup and delivery services are not scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks would be a plus. Ability to operate standard passenger cars, pickup trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment safely. Knowledge of traffic laws and safe lifting practices. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with drivers, customers, and team members. Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards at all times. Must be a people person with people skills. Respectful with a can-do attitude and a team-player.
