Job Description

Position Summary The Shop Utility Technician supports daily shop and manufacturing operations by operating insulation equipment, assisting with basic maintenance, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and providing general labor and material-handling support. This position requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate the insulation auger and related equipment. Follow all equipment operating procedures and required safety practices. Assist with basic preventive maintenance and minor maintenance tasks as directed. Perform general shop cleanup, including sweeping, removing debris, organizing work areas, and maintaining clear walkways. Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and staging materials throughout the shop. Lift, carry, push, pull, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds . Perform repetitive material-handling and physical work for periods of approximately 3-5 hours , as required by production needs. Assist production employees and other departments with general labor tasks as assigned. Inspect work areas and immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or maintenance needs to the Shop Foreman. Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and supervisor instructions. Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared to work scheduled shifts. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman. Qualifications Previous manufacturing, warehouse, construction, maintenance, or general labor experience is preferred but not required. Candidates should be comfortable working around industrial equipment and performing physically demanding tasks. They must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, work independently when assigned, and work effectively as part of a production team. Physical RequirementsThe employee must be able to regularly stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull; and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The position may require repetitive physical activity and material handling for approximately 3-5 hours at a time. Work EnvironmentThis position works primarily in a manufacturing/shop environment and may involve exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, temperature changes, and other conditions typical of an industrial facility. Required PPE must be worn as designated.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
