Job Title:
Helper for Climate Controlled Support Job Description Join our team as a Helper, where you will play a vital role in supporting our field technicians in delivering temporary and emergency HVAC, dehumidification, and temperature control equipment rentals. Our inventory includes portable air conditioners, chillers, heaters, and desiccant dehumidifiers, catering to commercial, construction, and industrial needs. Responsibilities Attend daily meetings with field technicians and drivers. Assist in moving HVAC materials and products around the facility. Load and unload materials using a box truck, providing support to the driver. Ensure units are functional by plugging and playing after unloading. Troubleshoot and set up units, resolving any issues promptly. Perform heavy lifting, bending, and moving consistently. Work overtime to meet customer demands. Essential Skills Basic mechanical skills. Troubleshooting and electrical repair expertise. Automotive and small engine repair skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Installation and welding experience. Brake system and fabrication knowledge. High School Diploma required. Must be at least 21 years old to become certified as a technician. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a climate-controlled and clean facility, organized with safety lines and well-maintained equipment. The facility spans 45,000 square feet, similar in size to a large retail store. Enjoy 30-minute lunch breaks and two 10-minute breaks, with the flexibility to leave the facility if needed. Operate within a travel radius covering Charlotte, Asheville, Black Mountain, Shelby, and South Carolina. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5 pm, with occasional extensions to 5:15 pm. Expect up to 60-70 hour work weeks without overnight or weekend jobs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
