General Summary Driver Helper position assists in offloading recyclables from truck and assists drivers with collecting recyclable materials.

Responsibilities:

• Collects materials; cardboard, paper, plastics into designated areas.
• Assist in offloading cardboard bales and toters from flatbed trucks.
• Assists drivers with collecting recyclable materials.
• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with company policies.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job; including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 70lbs.
• Exhibit the ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.
• Self-starter, aggressive work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be flexible to work any shift and/or to adjust shift when necessary.
• Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements.
• Good verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other personnel and management.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Other Regular attendance in conformance with Company standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Working Environment Summary This position requires working in an outdoor environment 100 percent of the time. The worker is exposed to wet conditions, weather, moving equipment, mists and cuts/scrapes. Noise levels experienced are loud. The work is performed on a variety of surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, gravel, dirt, even, uneven, wet, slippery, and varied grades. Education High school education or equivalent is preferred. Experience Employer will train.
