Job Description
Summary A Forklift Driver / Material Handler is responsible for operating material handling equipment, specifically forklifts, to receive, store, and distribute materials, parts, and supplies. This role involves using wireless RF scanning equipment to ensure accurate tracking and disposition of materials. The position requires proficiency in operating both stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts to navigate racks and containers effectively. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment, including stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts, to maneuver racks and containers Move, locate, relocate, load, unload, and stack materials in the designated areas Perform routine daily equipment inspections and escalate issues Gather finished orders for movement to the outbound shipping area Ensure product is labeled and free of damage, overages, and shortages Accurately complete all related paperwork Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company Observe and comply with all safety procedures and guidelines Ensure that materials loaded for transportation are properly stacked and secure Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and removing scrap, pallets, cardboard, etc. Perform all other duties as assigned Regular and reliable attendance at work Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives Competencies Attention to detail Communication proficiency Technical capacity Teamwork orientation Decision-making Results-driven High safety regard Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required. Travel No travel is required between locations.
