Hourly Reports to: Yard Manager Job Description Summary/objective The Yard Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the yard. Essential functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Sort and process materials, including but not limited to ferrous, nonferrous, tires, and batteries Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking the movement of materials Maintain equipment and facilities, including basic maintenance tasks and cleaning Provide support to all departments as needed Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations Maintain a safe and clean work environment Perform other duties as assigned by management Competencies Ability to work as a team and independently Strong communication, interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to follow safety guidelines and regulations Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards Proficient in basic math and computer skills Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Physical demands Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently Ability to work in all weather conditions Travel required N/A Required education and experience N/A Preferred education and experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Previous experience in a salvage yard or similar environment Other duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
