Job Description

Fence installer Helper - Looking for a couple fence installers to work alongside of a Foreman doing fence installations. Spanish speaking is a plus, hours are from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday. Meets at company everyday and rides with Foreman to job sites. Steel Toe boots are required.
Planning and Layout:
Clear the fence line, drive wood stakes at the corners, and tie string lines to map out exact post positions. [ 1 , 2 ]
Digging Post Holes:
Dig holes to the correct depth (typically one-third the length of the post) below the local frost line. Setting the
Posts:
Place posts into the holes, check them with a level to ensure they are plumb, and pour in concrete mix with water to anchor them. Allow the concrete to cure completely. [ 1 ]
Attaching Rails and Panels:
Fasten horizontal rails or pre-built panels to the posts using exterior-rated screws or brackets. [ 1 , 2 ]
Installing Pickets or Wire:
Mount individual pickets or stretch wire mesh tight across the frame using tension tools and secure with nails, staples, or ties. [ 1 , 2 ]
Digging & Setting:
Manual post hole digger or gas-powered auger, wheelbarrow, mixing hoe or concrete mixer.
Layout & Measuring:
Measuring tape, mason's string line, wood stakes, and marking paint.
Leveling & Alignment:
Post level or 4-foot spirit level, torpedo level.
Fastening & Cutting:
Cordless drill, circular saw or miter saw, framing hammer, or pneumatic nail gun.
