Laborer - Natural Gas Utility Construction A Gas Utility Laborer's responsibilities include working closely with Foremen and other team members to install gas facilities and other civil infrastructure. Laborers should demonstrate strong leadership, a willingness to listen and learn, a safety-first mindset, and a genuine desire to work in the utility industry. Responsibilities Obtain and maintain Gas Operator Qualifications. Perform hand digging with a shovel to locate existing utilities. Use various hand and power tools throughout different projects Conduct tool and vehicle maintenance Fuel equipment with proper fuel Load and unload materials and equipment Train workers to promote career growth Follow company policies and procedures Demonstrate safe practices by leading by example Maintain positive working relationships internally and externally Education, Skills, Experience Needed
  • Prior experience in gas utility industry highly desired
  • Commitment to performing quality work with a strong focus on safety
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • NGA Operator Qualifications highly desired Requirements
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Ability to pass and maintain Operator Qualifications as assigned
  • Ability to pass pre- and post-employment DOT drug screenings
  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
  • Ability to obtain satisfactory results of a background check
  • Ability to Lift 50lbs independently
  • Hand digging as required
