Laborers; Full-Time ( 40 Hours/Week )Pay Grade :
Grade 5L; Step 05- Step 08
Salary Range :
$18.31/Hour- $21.
Hour Schedule :
Monday- Friday;
Hours Vary As Needed Certifications/Licenses Required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SUMMARY The City of Chicopee's Facilities Department is hiring a Laborer. The Laborer is responsible for the performance of routine custodial and general laborer duties during an assigned shift, to maintain the building and adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, safe, and secure condition.ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE
Empties trash. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms. Washes, strips, and waxes floors Cleans carpet or hard flooring as needed. Mows lawns, string trimming, rakes, and leaf blows. Cleans areas outside building. Vacuums; cleans, and dusts inside the building as needed. Enters, responds to work orders as needed or assigned. Does small carpentry, electrical and plumbing work with assistance. Set up events, help with tear down and cleaning after events Room changeovers Shift coverage as needed or assigned. Snow Removal, Snow Blower use, shoveling and Ice Melt Application. Other Duties as Assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully complete and pass a Board of Probations Background Check.- Required Successfully complete and pass a Fingerprinted Based Background Check. High School Diploma/G.E.D. or one to three ( 1-3 ) months related experience and or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required Must have at least one year of experience in building maintenance. Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and snow removal equipment.
