Laborer

DescriptionGeneral SummaryThe laborer performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances
  • Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck
  • Stacks materials for storage or binning
  • Collects refuse and salvageable materials
  • Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations
  • Levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake, shovels concrete
  • Cleans culverts and ditches
  • Moves and arranges heavy pieces of furniture, equipment, and appliances
  • Assists/helps other CraftsmenKnowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
  • GED or High School Graduate
  • Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
  • Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmenWork Environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards w likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc
  • Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
