Shop Laborer - General Xigma Engineering & Fabrication in Lincoln Park, MI has
IMMEDIATE
Full-Time day shift position for a reliable and dependable General Laborer to perform a variety of tasks in the metal fabrication process. Xigma is an established metal fabricator in the Metro-Detroit Area. We offer paid Vacation, paid holidays and a company matching 401K Plan Healthcare/Dental/Vision available!
Applicants Musts:
Punctual and Reliable - able to make it to work ON TIME every day and SHOW UP every day Ability & Willingness to perform ANY and ALL activities required such as Saw, Punch, Drill, Paint, Cleanup etc Common Laborer Tasks (may include but not limited to this list) Run semi-automatic metal cutting band saw Run a punch press to punch holes, slots or trim metal parts within a specified cycle time Run an assortment of small metal working tools such as drill, drill press, mag drill, grinder etc. Sort, organize and label parts for shipping Palletize, pack and band pallets and boxes for shipment Assemble parts using mechanical fasteners such as nuts and bolts Move and organize parts as necessary throughout the shop Clean and organize as needed - sweep, mop, wash etc Must be able to work overtime as needed Must be able to work on one's feet for an entire shift, and lift 50 pounds or more on a consistent basis.
Qualifications Include:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to use a tape measure to measure and check parts Ability to work QUICKLY & SAFELY and follow all safety rules. Good written and verbal communications skills. Must be self-motivated, organized and be willing to work as a Team! Ability to drive a forklift is a plus Experience should include : Previous work in a shop environment Production experience is beneficial
