25/hour Opportunity to cultivate, develop, and grow new skill sets Sick time provided in accordance to ESTA regulations The Parks Division is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents and businesses by supporting recreation programs with maintenance of parks and athletic fields. Forestry, cemetery maintenance, and numerous special events are also staffed and managed by the Parks Division. The Division promotes a healthy lifestyle for all age groups regardless of physical abilities, and enriches cultural and natural resources by supporting community interpretive programs. DUTIES Maintain City athletic fields. Monitor parks and perform park maintenance. Preserve the medians on the Big Beaver corridor. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Be at least 18 years of age and possess High School diploma (or GED equivalent) on first day of employment. Must possess a valid Michigan driver license with a good driving record (based on City of Troy standards). As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana). Must wear regular steel-toe or composite-toe boots starting on first day of work.
EVALUATION PROCESS
Consists of a recorded video interview.
BONUS OPPORTUNITIES
Hired employees are eligible for a BONUS at the end of the 2025 season as stated below: If the employee has a satisfactory performance evaluation and worked 440-999 hours, they will receive a bonus of $0.25 per hour. If the employee has a satisfactory performance evaluation and worked 1000 hours or more, they will receive a bonus of $0.50 per hour. Additionally, bonuses are awarded for referring a new Summer Laborer/Seasonal Supervisor who works a minimum number of hours for the season: $100 for a referral who works between 320 hours to 799 hours in the 2025 season. $200 for a referral who works 800 hours or more during the 2025 season HOURS Forty (40) hours per week Saturday
