Job Description
Our client, a mining, private equity, biotechnology, and automotive company, is looking for a Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer for their Troym, MI location.
Responsibilities:
Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicle using Stellantis design guidelines.
Support vehicle build events at Customer site.
Incorporate Versigent's DFM (Design for Manufacturability) guidelines into the design.
Support Cost reduction initiatives
Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes
Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track cost
Review warranty claims to identify design improvements
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
Determines design approaches and parameters.
Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
Requirements:
BS Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial are preferred) Automotive Industry - 3 years minimum
Logical thinking to solve design issues
Good communication skills
Open-minded personality to deal with a very dynamic customer
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
Highly developed oral and written communications skills.
Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
General interest in product design, particularly automotive.
Familiarity with basic machine types.
Familiarity with all design, build and test services.
Highly proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Thorough knowledge of most advanced engineering methods, tools, and procedures.
Knowledge of design, development and test engineering, manufacturing processes, assembly operations and Central Office functions.
15+ years of relevant experience.
College degree with a major in engineering or equivalent training.
Completion of recommended corporate training programs.
Graduate degree preferred.
