Position Summary We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Grounds & Mill Cleanup employee to help keep our Roswell feed mill clean, organized, and safe. This position will be responsible for general cleanup throughout the mill, warehouse, yard, and surrounding grounds. Daily work may include sweeping, shoveling, removing spilled feed and ingredients, picking up trash and debris, cleaning around equipment, and helping maintain outdoor areas. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who is comfortable working in a feed mill environment, working outdoors, and performing physical work throughout the day. Previous manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, or general labor experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete and attend all mandated safety meetings and trainings Sweep and clean floors, walkways, work areas, and other areas throughout the mill. Shovel and remove spilled feed, grain, ingredients, and other materials. Clean accumulated dust and material from designated areas. Pick up trash, pallets, packaging materials, and other debris. Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste. Keep stairs, platforms, walkways, and work areas clear of unnecessary materials and trip hazards. Clean around production equipment as directed and only when it is safe to do so. Assist with maintaining clean warehouse and ingredient-storage areas. Help keep loading, unloading, and truck areas clean and organized. Maintain the facility grounds, parking areas, and surrounding property. Pick up trash and debris from outdoor areas. Perform basic groundskeeping duties such as weed removal and other general outdoor cleanup. Report spills, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or other hazards to a supervisor. Follow company procedures when working around conveyors, augers, pellet mills, forklifts, trucks, and other operating equipment. Never enter, reach into, clean, or work on operating machinery unless properly authorized and required lockout/tagout procedures have been completed. Use required personal protective equipment. Assist other departments with general labor and cleanup duties when needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing, agriculture, warehouse work, groundskeeping, or general labor is preferred but not required. Willingness to perform physical and sometimes dirty work. Ability to work safely around machinery, trucks, forklifts, and production operations. Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures. Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors. Ability to communicate unsafe conditions or equipment problems to supervision. Must be able to wear all required PPE and follow all company safety rules. Physical Requirements This position requires regular physical activity. The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull. Regularly use brooms, shovels, hoses, and other cleanup equipment. Lift and carry materials, tools, trash, and supplies used during normal cleanup work. Climb stairs and work on different levels of the facility as necessary. Work on concrete, gravel, dirt, and uneven surfaces. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including New Mexico heat, cold, wind, and dust. Work in areas where grain, feed, and ingredient dust may be present. Work safely around loud machinery and moving equipment. Work Environment This position works in and around an active animal-feed manufacturing facility. Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, outdoor weather, moving equipment, trucks, forklifts, and industrial machinery. Required personal protective equipment may include safety glasses, hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, hard hats, high-visibility clothing, and respiratory protection when required for specific tasks or areas. What We Are Looking For The right person for this position will: Show up consistently and be ready to work. Take pride in keeping the facility clean and safe. Notice problems and take care of them before they become larger issues. Be comfortable performing physical work throughout the day. Follow safety rules and safety policies and understand the importance of staying clear of operating machinery. Work well with production, warehouse, maintenance, and management employees. Be willing to help wherever needed and take direction from their supervisor Understand that good housekeeping is an important part of keeping a feed mill safe and operating efficiently. Experience is helpful, but dependability, work ethic, safety awareness, and willingness to learn are most important.
Pay:
$12.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 55.0 - 65.0 per week
