- Plant Laborer
- Pay Rate:
- $22.00 per hour
- Location:
- Onsite in Niagara Falls, NY
- Schedule:
- Rotating swing shift; typically 36-48 hours per week
- Shift Flexibility:
- Must be available to work 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, overtime, and short-notice shifts as needed
- Position Summary
- We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused
- Plant Laborer
- to support manufacturing operations across our facility.
This hands-on role is essential to maintaining efficient production, consistent product quality, and a safe working environment. The Plant Laborer will work with a variety of equipment and processes in areas including mixing, extrusion, crushing, kilns, dryers, mills, and other production operations. Responsibilities include operating equipment, conducting inspections, collecting samples and production data, troubleshooting process issues, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Operate plant equipment efficiently and safely to support manufacturing processes.
+ Follow standard operating procedures, production work orders, and established quality requirements.
+ Perform quality checks, collect samples, and accurately record production data.
+ Monitor equipment and processes, identifying and reporting abnormalities.
+ Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and perform minor equipment repairs as needed.
+ Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE use and lockout/tagout requirements.
+ Participate in safety audits, SMATs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Maintain compliance with
ISO 14001, ISO 9001, TQM
principles, OSHA requirements, and applicable environmental regulations.
+ Keep equipment, production areas, and workspaces clean and organized.
+ Support general plant cleaning, restocking, and waste disposal activities.
+ Operate forklifts safely and responsibly.
+ Work collaboratively with production team members, plant staff, and management.
+ Assist with general production tasks and other duties as assigned.
- Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- + Work is primarily performed inside a manufacturing plant.
+ Exposure to seasonal temperature variations and a dusty work environment.
+ Ability to safely work around industrial equipment and hazardous materials.
+ Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
+ Ability to climb ladders or stairs, including working at heights.
+ Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
+ Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards.
+ Willingness to work overtime and short-notice shifts based on business needs.
- Required Qualifications
- Education
- + High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience and Skills
- + Previous experience in a light manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Basic computer skills required.
+ Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
+ Ability to work independently, under pressure, and around hazardous materials.
+ Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and short-notice shifts as needed.

- + Valid forklift license preferred. + Ability to obtain a forklift license as required.
