Description:
Position Summary The Driver Helper supports delivery drivers in the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of appliances to residential and commercial customers. This role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent service. The Driver Helper plays a key role in ensuring products are delivered, handled, and installed (where applicable) with care and professionalism. The Driver Helper will also be trained and expected to provide backup driving support when needed (in a 26 ft box truck with air brakes) , including operating company delivery vehicles and assisting with delivery routes during driver absences or as business needs require. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Assist the driver with loading, unloading, and securing appliances for transport Accompany the driver on delivery routes and help navigate to delivery locations Provide backup driving support when needed, including safely operating company delivery vehicles Safely carry and maneuver large appliances into customer homes or job sites Support basic installation of appliances (training provided where applicable) Remove packaging materials and, when required, haul away old appliances Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries Perform pre- and post-trip checks with the driver to ensure load accuracy and safety Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles Follow all company safety policies and procedures Complete required driving, vehicle, and delivery documentation accurately Assist with other delivery-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability and willingness to provide backup driving support as needed Experience driving a 26 ft box truck with air brakes. Prior delivery, warehouse, moving, or commercial driving experience is a plus Ability to lift and carry heavy items (typically 75-150 lbs. with assistance) Strong teamwork and communication skills Reliable, punctual, and customer-service oriented Willingness to work in varying weather conditions Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and follow all applicable driving and safety regulations
