MANDATORY CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

APPLICANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND AND COMPLETE 4 YEAR ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN LINE SCHOOL

AND BE COMFORTABLE WORKING 50 FEET IN THE AIR HARNESSED IN BUCKET TRUCK

TO OBTAIN CLASS B - CDL CLASS B WITH TANKER ENDORSEMENT AND AIRBRAKE LICENSE

LABORER WILL BE ON CALL 24/7
Brief Summary:

The employee shall be responsible to the Village DPW Superintendent. The Laborer performs a wide variety of jobs and must be able to work as a team member and independently. Some job duties, included but not limited are: Assist in: The collection and disposal of refuse and recyclables. Cleaning, repairs and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, including removal of snow, ice and sanding streets. Operating heavy equipment including, snowplow, backhoe and electrical bucket truck. Mowing the grass and weed eating around Village parks and facilities. Performing daily checks on the Water and Wastewater Facilities in the Village, including performing mandatory sampling for testing purposes, as required by the DOH and DEC. Wastewater system maintenance and troubleshooting including vacuum line and gravity fed systems. Electrical system maintenance including trimming trees and upgrades of system, as needed or scheduled. Read electric and water meters, and maintenance of same; as needed. Routine vehicle maintenance.

Applicant must be:

Physically fit and able to lift 75 pounds Walk 2 - 3 miles daily, as needed Shovel snow, dirt, sand, etc. Work 8 hours daily and be willing to work up to 16 hours, if needed.
