Hartford Township Road Laborer Job Description Objective:

Ø Individual is responsible for performing unskilled to semi-skilled routine labor tasks for the maintenance and repair of Township roads, facilities, cemeteries and any other duties as assigned by the Road Superintendent.

Responsibilities:

Ø Must be available to work all required hours (including occasions when early morning, late-night, weekends and holidays are required for emergencies). Ø Must be able to safely and effectively operate all Township equipment and machinery. Ø Must complete each assigned task efficiently and completely. Ø If during the employees' general duties, he/she sees a project or repair that should be undertaken by the township, it is expected that they would bring said project or repair to the attention of the superintendent. Ø Maintain a safe working environment for employees and residents. Ø Successfully complete required training as determined by the superintendent. Ø Must work well with others.

Qualifications:

Ø Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the required work duties. Ø Individual performs heavy work which may require lifting more than fifty (50) pounds frequently. The work of this position is primarily performed outside and requires sustained physical exertion while doing a variety of maintenance and repair activities. Individual may from time to time, as determined by the Board, be required to pass a physical examination to determine the individual's ability to perform essential job-based functions. Ø Should be familiar with and capable of operation of all Township equipment necessary for successful completion of required duties. Ø Must be willing and able to perform physical labor. Ø Should have basic mechanical knowledge of all Township equipment. Ø Must be willing and able to participate in the completion of all projects undertaken by the department.

Ø Must have a valid drivers license and be able to be insured. Ø Must be able to perform all job duties with reasonable accommodation.
