Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for performing basic duties related to reassembling locomotive wheel components by performing the following tasks. Duties and Responsibilities of Assembly Laborer- Inspect and measure journal adapter boxes, journal boxes and components to ensure each part is within specifications.
- Assemble journal adapter boxes, journal boxes and components.
- Record necessary information on Inspection/Production sheets as required.
- Ensures proper safety equipment is worn.
- Attention to detail, able to reject parts for defects, focus on quality.
- Follow proper safety precautions as listed in the safety manual.
- Keep neat and clean work area.
Assembly Tech:
- Able to lift 50lbs. daily.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.)
- Attention to detail, able to reject parts for defects, focus on quality.
- Experience in using electric and pneumatic hand tools (grinders, sanders, etc.).
- Ability to follow written work instructions in English in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow safety rules and regulations.
- Experience with precision measuring tools.
