Job Description

Position Summary The Inside Sales position is a revenue-impacting role responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer accounts, monitoring shipments, and fostering interdepartmental collaboration. This position plays a critical role in converting opportunities into orders, maximizing margin, and ensuring seamless order execution from quote to delivery. The ideal candidate is proactive, result-driven, and comfortable balancing sales performance with operational execution.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, deliver, and proactively follow up on customer quotes to convert opportunities into confirmed sales Manage and grow assigned customer accounts through consistent communication and relationship development Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts Maintain a strong sales pipeline and track opportunities from quote to close Support sales forecasting and contribute to revenue planning discussions Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance KPIs Ensure vendor pricing is pricing current prior to quotation/order placement. Partner with management on sourcing strategies for new and existing products Monitor international shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery Consistently track open customer orders/order lines and align procurement timelines with shipment schedules Communicate shipment status and critical updates to customers and management Maintain accurate computerized inventory records including price updates, new products, and discontinued items Utilize CRM, order processing, and inventory systems to manage pipeline visibility and order accuracy Monitor estimates and contribute forecasting insights for new and repeat business Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, supplier developments, and competitive landscape Participate in required training and professional development Support process improvements that enhance sales effectiveness and operational efficiency Perform additional duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to present information effectively to customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders Professional correspondence and reporting skills
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate pricing structures, margins, discounts, percentages, and commissions Strong analytical skills to support purchasing and sales strategy Ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions
Reasoning Ability:
Strong problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple variables in structured business processes
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with CRM systems preferred Familiarity with inventory and order management software Working knowledge of international shipping documentation is a plus
