This role supports efficient production flow by ensuring materials are properly organized, quality-checked, and prepared for the next stage of manufacturing. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced industrial environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort wood pieces after exiting the ripsaw according to size, grade, and production specifications.
- Inspect lumber for visible defects such as splits, knots, warping, or damage.
- Stack materials neatly and safely to prevent damage or safety hazards.
- Remove scrap and unusable materials and place in designated areas.
- Maintain clean and organized work area around ripsaw and sorting station.
- Assist machine operators and other production team members as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Meet daily production and quality standards. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- No prior millworks experience required - on-the-job training provided.
- Ability to read basic measurements and follow simple instructions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive bending, reaching, and stacking.
- Ability to work in a loud environment (hearing protection required).
