Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Box Truck Driver/Helper and become an essential part of our logistics and delivery operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver goods, assist with loading and unloading shipments, and provide excellent customer service throughout your route. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of manual handling and vehicle operation. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where teamwork, efficiency, and safety are paramount. Responsibilities Safely operate a box truck for local deliveries, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices. Deliver goods directly to customers' locations, providing courteous customer service and ensuring accurate order fulfillment. Use mobile devices or route navigation tools to follow assigned delivery routes efficiently and on schedule. Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit; assist with load & unload procedures as needed. Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports related to shipments, vehicle condition, and delivery status. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, commercial driving, or delivery driving roles involving box trucks or similar vehicles. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving. Familiarity with manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks is a plus. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and moving items. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries. Ability to adhere to safety protocols including proper use of material handling equipment and load securing techniques. Prior experience with route driving using mobile devices.
