This position will ensure all car parts will be removed and properly handled. This position will be responsible for ensuring the VIN number on the title matches the VIN on the car. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Job Functions Ensures VIN number is the same as reported on paperwork. Prepare cars to be processed and perform the dismantling procedure in accordance to company policy. Remove and properly dispose of fluids including oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, gasoline, diesel, and anti-freeze. Removal and proper handling of battery and catalytic converter, drums and rotors etc. Complete one vehicle before starting another. Keep work area clean and safe, fluids placed in labeled containers. Operate various pieces of equipment when assigned (i.e. telehandler, tow motor, bobcat skid steer). Disassemble tires. Maintain tools and equipment and regularly inspect for problems. Pick up parts and debris from previous vehicle and put in appropriate holding containers / area. May perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Entry level mechanic skills are preferred. Must have some experience of dismantling vehicles is preferred. Must be able to work assigned schedule. High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Must be able to perform a variety of tasks in all kinds of weather/seasons outdoors. Physical job - Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to wear proper PPE (safety toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses). Metals knowledge is preferred. Prior to hire - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and criminal background check. Work Hours Monday through Friday, 40+ hour work week, Saturdays, and overtime will be required to business needs. Day Shift. Schedule is subject to change to facilitate business and production needs.
