- Nashville, TN Job Summary Rockwood Sustainable Solutions is looking for a dependable, hard-working Driver Helper to join our Tommy Cart team.
The Driver Helper rides with the box truck driver throughout the day and works as a team to service construction sites throughout the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. The job involves delivering empty Tommy Carts to construction sites, picking up full carts, and bringing those full carts back to the Rockwood facility. Our typical goal is approximately six customer stops per day . This is a hands-on position. The carts can weigh several hundred pounds when full, but they are on wheels and are rolled rather than lifted . The truck is equipped with a liftgate, and the Driver Helper works with the driver to safely move carts on and off the truck and position them at the job site. You will also interact with customers and job-site personnel throughout the day. Because these are high-value construction customers , professionalism, good communication, and a positive attitude are important. If you're someone who shows up on time, works hard, communicates well, and doesn't mind getting out of the truck and doing the work, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do Ride with the assigned box truck driver throughout the daily Tommy Cart route. Help deliver empty carts to construction job sites. Help retrieve full carts from job sites. Work with the driver to safely roll carts onto and off of the box truck using the liftgate. Help position carts where the customer or job site requires them. Work as a team with the driver to keep the route safe and moving efficiently. Help the driver complete approximately six customer stops per day. Interact professionally and respectfully with customers, contractors, and job-site personnel. Follow instructions and job-site safety requirements when working at active construction sites. Take pictures using an iPad or iPhone when needed to document carts, deliveries, pickups, or job-site conditions. Communicate with the driver and supervisor when there is a problem or something needs attention. Help keep the truck clean, organized, and ready for the next stop. Help secure carts and other materials for transportation. Report damaged carts, equipment, or other issues to the driver or supervisor. Follow Rockwood's safety policies and procedures. Help wherever needed to safely and efficiently complete the route. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and on time. Willing to work hard and stay busy throughout the day. Comfortable working outside and around active construction sites. Physically capable of pushing and maneuvering carts that can weigh several hundred pounds when full. Comfortable getting in and out of the truck throughout the day. Able to work well as part of a two-person team. Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and coworkers. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Comfortable using an iPhone or iPad for basic communication and documentation. Safety-minded and willing to follow instructions. Able to work independently when needed and take direction from the driver and supervisor. Experience Previous experience is helpful, but not required. We will train the right person. Experience in construction, delivery, warehouse, waste/recycling, landscaping, moving, or other physically active jobs can be helpful, but we're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and dependability . A CDL is not required for this position. The Right Fit for Rockwood This isn't a job where you sit in the passenger seat all day. You will be an important part of the route and will work side-by-side with the driver to get carts where they need to go safely and efficiently.

- 3:00 PM Home every night Primarily Nashville and surrounding Middle Tennessee area Pay & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
