Job Description
Trash Helper
- Drug and Alcohol Testing Required
Job Position Title:
Trash Bumper (Labor intensive, picking up customers trash on trash truck)Type of Job:
Full Time Hours:
6:30 - 5:00 with 30-minute lunch while on the route 4-10's Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri (off most Wednesdays and weekends) Some overtime required Home every nightJob Description:
The Waste Collector/Bumper is responsible for working on the back of a rear load trash truck and collecting customers curb side household trash cans/bags and lifting them into the truck for hauling to the landfill. Waste Collector/Bumper will also be responsible for the safe operation of the Power Take Off (PTO) functions of tipping cans, and compacting trash into the truck. Job duties include but are not limited to:- Must wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses, safety vest, and etc)
- Must learn the route and customers on the route in a timely manner
- Training of the safe operation of the truck will be provided
- Spotting the truck while the driver is backing up
- May need to lift items up to 50lbs frequently
- Keep truck & work areas clean and tidy
- Assist other employees & other company needs as requested
