RAIL YARD LABORER

Laredo, TX (Intermodal Rail Yard) Full-time | Starting pay $14/hour + overtime available The job Ground labor on an active intermodal rail yard. You will walk the yard, climb railcars, and help move and secure 53-foot containers and related equipment. This is outdoor physical work around moving trains, trucks, and lift equipment. What youll do Walk long distances across the yard on uneven ground (ballast, gravel, pavement) Climb on and off railcars using ladders; maintain 3-point contact Install and remove interbox connectors (IBCs / twist locks) and related hardware Assist crane/lift operators with hand signals during loading and unloading Lock/unlock tracks and help prepare cars for lift operations General yard labor: housekeeping, spotting equipment, and other duties as assigned Follow all railroad and yard safety rules Willing Training Requirements Must be in good physical condition Able to walk long distances throughout the shift Able to climb railcars repeatedly and work at heights Able to work outdoors in South Texas heat, rain, and all weather Able to lift, carry, push, and pull (typical yard work; expect 50 lbs regularly) No felony convictions Must pass a background check Must pass a drug screen Reliable attendance; must be able to work overtime when operations require it Valid drivers license (Preferred, but not required) Must be able to follow instructions and work safely around heavy equipment Experience is not required. We will train the right person.
